weird things on Ebay

I found a few diffferent people selling coupons for cat food and dog food. the coupons were for $1 off the selected item and were sold in packs of 20. that had to be the weirdest items i could find. the next weird thing i found was the glass insulators from the top of the electric poles that the wires are attached to. those were the only weird things i could find in the time we had.

The film "Once"

It was a very interesting movie. It had very good music and it told the story without someone telling the story. It tells a very good story. It used images and scenes to try and put us in his place. There is not much else i can say about the movie or the use of visual media.

Favorite Toy

I never really had a favorite toy or game. I had a few toys that I liked to play with, but I never chose one as a favorite. I don't like designating something as a favorite. Most of the time I never even thought of taking favorites with anything. Favorites to me are a way of saying one thing is better than everything else. Everything has some good qualities and some bad qualities. So I like to accept things for what they are and not try to say one thing is better than others.

Tv Shows

There really is nothing good on television. If you want a good entertainment option, go pick up a good book. Television in this current age has been reduced to shows that feature specific characters that get into a lot of random situations. The situations hold no significance to any other episode in the series. Even if there is a coherent story line, the acting is terrible. Over all you'd be better off with a good book. A good book will actually make you work a little to get the info. Television on the other had is only good if your looking for a mindless activity to fall asleep to.

Extreme Emotions

I can't think of any real moments in my life when i had experienced any kind of extreme emotion.i usually keep my emotions under control, which sometimes doesn't turn out to be a good thing sometimes.

Perspective on Ads

I don't really pay attention to any kinds of advertising. One of the reasons I don't watch ads is because i don't watch TV. I like to ignore ads in newspapers and online, unless I'm looking for something. the only newspaper ads i like to read are the help wanted ads and the for sale ads in the clasifieds. Other than those few, ads are really annoying.

Obama Vs. MLK

The speech by Barack Obama started out very well. It stated what it was going to argue about, and then it continued to tell why. Then about halfway through the speech he breaks into a story that seems to have nothing to do with what he was talking about. The story continues for about 8 paragraphs that would lose anyone who wasn’t a political speaker. It lost me after 2 paragraphs and I had to go back and reread the three paragraphs before the story to find out the basics of what he was talking about. After the story he tries to go back to what he was originally talking about and link it to the story, but didn’t succeed. Overall, I couldn’t tell what Barack Obama was even arguing for or against. Half the time I didn’t know what he was talking about.
The speech by MLK was a very good speech. It started out with him explaining where he was and a brief explanation as to why he is there, he brings in a story but limits it to about one paragraph. By limiting it to one paragraph he made sure people wouldn’t get bored with it and that people still got the basics of what was going on. After that he begins to argue his case. To argue his case he put in facts, and other short stories that support that part of the argument. At no point in the speech did I lose interest or not understand what he was trying to get across.
Over all the story in Obamas speech and the lack of apparent links between the story and the argument, were the major downfalls of that speech. There was also no well defined argument. The short stories and well explained links made the MLK speech very interesting and strong.

Spring Break

Over spring break Adam did very little. The first thing he did was travel to the Twin Cities Area to visit his eldest sister and family. He spent a few days there, then he made his way a cross the state to his hometown. He spent the rest of his spring break in his hometown, visiting the rest of his family and celebrating his nieces 5th birthday. Other than those few things Adam did very little.

Family

when i think of my family i think of a large number of people. Mainly my family consists of my actual family. they would include my 2 older sisters, older brother and my younger sister. im the 4th in a line of 5 siblings. the rest of the people that i coonsider family are my closest friends and friends of the family. There are no interesting stories that im willing to share about my family.

Writing Assignment

I'm still looking for a topic to write about. i'm going to talk to my family to see if they have a good idea for a topic. Once I get a few ideas for topics, I'll reseach them to figure out which is better to write about. Other than the topic of the paper, I have no concerns at the moment.

A Modest Proposal.

Jonathan Swift was a satirical writer that decided to propose a solution to the large number of families that are starving in Ireland. Over all i though that this protion of the writing was very boring. I was having a hard time actually reading the last page. I found absolutly nothing in it interesting. but it did bring to light to the problems that ireland was facing.

Monday Movie

The movie on Monday was a very good movie. It talked about having a "lighter footprint on the earth." The movie talked about exactly what the people in the movie wanted. They talk about what they wanted, why they wanted it that way, and a way of realizing that dream. they used lots of facts to back up what they said, and provided a sound argument. The movie was so convincing in what it was saying, that it almost had me on the bandwagon for what they were promoting.

My Name

As far as i know there was no particular reason that my parents chose my name. It could be that my family is strong into religion, but religion has taken no effect in my other siblings names, so I doubt the religious reason. In the past i have asked about my name and why they chose it, but i never got a real answer. In the end it was probably just a name that my parents agreed upon.

Writing

What i learned about researching at the library was that there are a lot of library resources that can be accessed through the internet.
some concerns that i have about this paper is running out of time or not having enough written in the paper. I'm also worried about not writing the right things in my paper.

How cold weather effects me.

Cold weather doesn't effect me till it gets to about -10 degrees F. At that point i just decide to stay inside as much as possible. The fact of the matter is, I love the cold. I'm unique in my family by the fact that I love the cold. I don't wear jackets till it gets to about 30 degrees F. Cold weather can't stop me from doing what I need or want to do. The only way the weather can effect me is if it gets to be about 80 degrees F. Then I'm miserable.

Favorite Song

I would have to say that my favorite song is "We Shall Be Free" By Garth Brooks. I've loved this song since I first heard it. This song gave me a hope of what a great world this could be. It's always cheered me up when I'm down. It also gave me something to live for. It helped me find a way of life that could improve the world. Its a song that speaks to the soul. It's also one of the first songs that I ever heard.

Favorite Place

I don't really have a favorite place. I've never chosen a favorite place because no one
has ever asked me it before. I also don't like to show favoritism. I could just think of a place and say that it is my favorite place. But i don't want to waste my time on a lie. I also hate lies.
